felisviolaceousOk, disclaimer first! I do NOT wish death and destruction on anyone...EVER!!!!
Well...Hurricane Rita has veered more towards the east and it looks like Austin isn't even gonna get a drop of rain from it this weekend. And you wanna know what???? I'm dissappointed!!!! I know...I'm a freak. But, COME ON!!!! All this worry and angst and well, the excitement that had everyone running around and preparing and it is all for naught!! It's like waiting in line for a HUGE, scary rollercoaster at an amusement park and you're slowly inching your way closer to the train and your heart starts speeding up and you start imagining what it's gonna be like and worrying if your train is gonna be that one train that knocks out that loose screw making the train fly out into the open air. Of course you know that the chance of that happening is .5% and you certainly don't want it to EVER happen, but that thought is still there. And, if you think about it, the whole point of this ride is the scare factor...that thrill of potential danger! And just as you get up to the front of the line and you know the very next train is yours and the employee comes up to you and says..."Sorry, the ride is closed now...maybe next time" AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!
Now, I live in a trailer so this hurricane isn't exactly something that I want near my home. But, to have all this angst and worry and excitement of something drastically different happening in this town building up inside everyone and to have it suddenly "close down" well...CRAP!! Even though I knew the chance of something bad happening to me and mine were like .05%, just having things drop out like that is a big let down. And I KNOW there are others out there that feel the same as I do!!
And for those that are going to say to me "be careful what you wish for you just might get it" or "well...if this happens you're gonna die...we're all gonna die"...ya ya ya...nag nag nag...WHATEVER!!!! I say to you, you're just so terrifyingly afraid of death/change that you don't see what could come after....like a far greater being than what you were before!!!!
